Daisy and her sisters
By Mama Gänseblümchen
Once upon a time there was a daisy child, who lived on a flower meadow with thousands of sisters. They felt happy and comfortable; they sensed the Divine touch of love which accompanied them every day.
But one day, something terrible happened. A loud clattering noise woke them from their slumber and a lawn mower mowed down all their beautiful heads that they had worked so hard to grow. Only the very smallest among them were spared. But what did the meadow look like now? Devastation and death everywhere, why did humans, who were supposed to be the guardians of Earth, do something so terrible? The people had forgotten why they were here, they had forgotten themselves and paid no more attention to the daisies. Even the children carelessly tore up the flowers broke the branches of the bushes.
The very smallest daisy child cried bitterly over all her dead sisters and begged the dear Heavenly Father for help. Immediately, her small heart calmed down, for the Heavenly Father had put the answer into her heart. She knew now that the daisies, as little as they were, carried a special power within them. They would be able to remain on Earth until the very end, because they could always regrow, and thus even escape the mowing machines of the humans. Already after a few days, her sisters had recovered, they had grown new blossoms. Many of her slightly larger sisters had lain down on the ground and now got up again. Hence it is that every human child knows daisies, because they grow everywhere and always bloom anew.
